Volunteer
Hundreds of individuals volunteer at the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank every year, helping us pack and distribute food to people in need. We welcome you, your work group, and your family to volunteer!
Whether volunteering as an individual or with a group, we can host and arrange for a tour of our warehouse. We’d love to work with you to schedule a weekday opportunity.
Volunteering FAQ’s
Who can volunteer?
Adults and children can volunteer! Children between the ages of 12-15 must be accompanied by an adult who is also volunteering and is 18 years of age or older. A minimum of one chaperone per four children is required. For those under 12 years of age, our Senior Smiles program is the perfect volunteer opportunity. Participants create drawings and notes to be included in food boxes for seniors.

Senior Smiles
All age groups enjoy sharing happy thoughts and hand-drawn pictures with our seniors. These encouraging notes are included in food boxes for our Senior Brown Bag program. It’s another terrific way to share we care.
If your family or group would like to participate, it’s easy! Simply write friendly messages and/or drawings on paper or cards. Then bring or mail them to our office at 4490 Ocmulgee East Boulevard, Macon, GA 31217 during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. When Senior Brown Bag (boxes) are packed, we will include your notes!
